An authorised Level 2 Electrician is an electrical contractor that is capable of connecting level 2 electrical work.  A level 2 electrician is authorised to physically connect consumers to the network being from your property to the pole, where a normal electrician is not authorised to undertake these types of works. WHAT IS AN ELECTRICAL DEFECT NOTICE?

A defect notice means that a part of the electricity supply to the property has become defective and requires your attention to have it rectified by an electrical contractor. All connections to electricity networks must comply with safety standards, including the NSW Electricity Supply Act 1995, the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Regulation 2006. A new or existing connections and can also be issued with a defect notification to customers and/or electrical contractors for electrical installations that do not comply with safety standards. You are expected to have the problem attended and rectified by a qualified electrical technician within 21 Days.
Any defects that are not repaired within 21 days after notification may result in electricity supply to the property being disconnected until repairs are completed to safety and service standards. If your original contractor is unable to carry out the repairs, it is the customer’s responsibility to engage another qualified electrical contractor for the work.
